You may have read about Build Equinox Co-Founder Alex Long's CERV Retrofit for his century old home in Champaign, IL... and now you can tour it! We have partnered with Illinois PIRG (Public Interest Research Group), Illinois Green Alliance, Prairie Rivers Network, Environment Illinois, and Faith in Place to allow you to see how Alex transformed his older home through selective envelope improvements, system upgrades, and solar. The result is a dramatically improved living environment, featuring quiet comfort and superior indoor air quality (thanks to the CERV2, of course), setting a new standard for historic homes!
When: January 31, 1:00pm - 3:00pm CST

As we turn up our thermostats for winter, we must face our horrifyingly high gas bills and ask ourselves, is this the most efficient way? No! There are better, cheaper, healthier alternatives to heat your home.
Join us for an intimate community gathering and walk-through of a fully electric home. Along the way, you’ll learn about the home electrification process and experience the benefits for yourself! This tour is an opportunity for Urbana/Champaign residents to learn about issues with gas heating and how to plan for a future without gas.
We’ll discuss when it’s the right time to make the switch, and how you can save money and move towards cleaner, more affordable options for home heating. It won’t be too technical; we want to show how the environment, your finances, and your health can all benefit from getting gas out of your house.
This event is about picturing a future away from gas, making the move to electrified homes, what your future could look like, and the hurdles our communities will face during the transition.
Free and open to all. Food and beverages will be provided.
